The big eclipse day
was a really long day with some special events i want to tell you. Because i spent the whole day with sakızağacı we again want to share the story too. So try to be a creative reader..
So, here we go. The day started in the early morning because it was total eclipse day. Well ok in Istanbul we had only a 97% eclipse - i know this is not very total - but enough to get up early in the morning.
Getting up was a little bit hard because the energy wasn`t working. So we had no shower which was a little problem but the gas was working and we started discussing the problem with the first coffee. Then we managed the energie-thing and continued with the second breakfast and started the eclipse-preparation. We took a jam jar and tried to create some smut inside with a candle which finally worked good. Then we went to a big stair where we had a nice view over Istanbul and the sea. There where already a lot of people and we joined them with our new sunglasses and the jam jar. It was a very good place becouse we where located between beer-drinking hippiepunks, businessmen and families. The day was sunny and warm and it was interesting to see that it`s getting darker and colder. Then the weather turned to perfect spring again and we went to Eminonü for the big marked. Finally we found a plasticbowl dealer and bought a toilet for the new sakızağacı-cat. On the way back home we needed a lot of brakes because the day was very hot and the way was long. We stopped at the galata-bridge and at the TRT-building where you have a very exiting view over the sea of houses.
Back at home we again tried to fight against this computer and lost. I think the IDE-controller is broken and there are not much possibilities left to win against this old hardware. So we decided to look again at the cat we met before. But this was also not working - we found her very lucky between an awful lot of doener meet - so she doesn`t like to be sakızağacıs new roommate.
It was also time to go to Kr. where we drank this funny german `heisse Liebe` tea which was lukewarm and ate Baklava. Oh there are many reasons why i love to be here but Baklava is definitely one of them. Later we went to little wing caffee, a very nice and friendly place, to see Esra. She invited us to a party at AraF. This is a very strange but interesting club. It is located on the fifth floor and has a big window front. We listened to a funny life performance and danced to strange music, something between tarditional turkish, ragga and hiphop - i know it sounds impossible but it was like this, in front of an imressive view over Istanbul - actually only a little part of this huge city. At the end of the day i really needed the shower that was fortunately working again.
